MIDO Milan Eyewear Show 2018
Anzeige/Ad | A few weeks ago I attended the world’s largest fair for eyewear, the MIDO Eyewear Show. 1,305 companies from five continents participate! The main focus was the current innovations around glasses and in eyewear, especially in regard to materials used to make them.
Classic materials such as acetate and titanium appear in a multitude of combinations, combining a unique stylistic approach with the advantages of lightness and comfort. Acetate materials are often used for trendy frames in a wide variety of finishes such as satin, shiny, unpolished, and more. Titanium, stainless steel, and aluminum, on the other hand, are the preferred metals for sturdier frames.
The pairing or layering of materials such as polymer with metal creates a fresh and new feeling while wearing sunglasses. And don’t forget all the natural materials such as wood, buffalo horn, gold, rose gold, silver and silk. The love for craftsmanship is always in the foreground with these.
In regards to color, you can also see a variety of models. The energy and brilliance of statement color have taken over all facets of eyewear design. There are neons, pastels or exotic tones. On the other hand, there are of course all the calm and basic tones such as soft grey or the classic black or white.
Unfortunately, my SD card broke after going to the fair. That’s why I’m sharing pictures taken by other great photographers. This way, you can still get a great idea of the inspiring MIDO Eyewear Show.
